Lolo Jones

The story of 2 time Olympian Lolo Jones, a 100-meter hurdler, is full of inspiration.

There is an ESPN special on Lolo Jones available on Netflix. Even though her sport is track, the lessons and the examples she sets can inspire us in our sport, the sport of life.

Here is a summary of her story: born into a large family, dad in and out of prison, homeless at one time while a small child, talented runner, runs at distinguished high school (because of her talent), scholarship to LSU, graduates, goes pro, runs races all over the world to pay the bills (paid for each race ran), top ranked female hurdler in the world, caught in a media/public relations machine, olympic trials, 2008 Bejing Olympics, trips on 9th hurdle in 2008 Olympic finals blowing a decisive lead, losing feeling to feet, back surgery, comeback training, 2012 London Olympics, media hype, New York times drama 2 days before race, comes in 4th place in the world, team drama after race.
