Workout of the Day for Thursday Dec 6, 2012
Remember to introducing yourself to new members when they walk in the door and encourage them on their journey into the CrossFit world. After all, some day it may be (will soon be) your Wife/Father/Child/Friend entering into a box just like ours, how would you want them to feel?
Beginning CrossFit can feel nerve-wracking. Luckily one of the biggest benefits of CrossFit Roseville is the support of all the members. Our members get what it is like to learn difficult moves and to challenge your weaknesses. To look at an “RX’d” workout in shock and awe, and yet to see the seasoned veterans handle these tasks with seeming ease.
Because I know how far I have come it is easy to be excited for new members and to imagine the vast possibilities for their future improvement and the unexpected benefits they will receive from CrossFit, the ones that are hard to describe and different for all of us.
If you are one of our seasoned members think how far you have come since you started at CrossFit. How did you feel learning how to Snatch, debating the meaning of AMRAP, and wrapping your head around workouts like “Murph”? Think of all the wisdom you have learned from trying and failing, the relationships you have built, and how you have become one of the pillars at CrossFit Roseville.
Thank you for creating the kind of community at CrossFit Roseville that cheers on your fellow members even when you would rather lie on your back gassed out and humbled. A community that supports each other at every opportunity. “A community of people who love to have fun, but also love to work hard.” The kind of community that transforms people’s lives.
Think about the kind of community you want to be a part of at CrossFit Roseville and let myself or Justin know what we can do to support and develop these ideas.
